Captain Dan served in the military for 20 years and has been a certified diver since 1999. While serving he dove all over the world exploring the waters of the Caribbean, Mediterranean, Red Sea, Gulf of Mexico, Pacific and Atlantic oceans just to name a few. In 2003 he was stationed in Destin for 6 years and fell in love with the area. After retiring from the service he decided to return to Destin which he now calls home. As a USCG certified boat captain he followed his passions for the sea and scuba diving by opening Off Duty Dive Charters. With a lot of local knowledge of the Destin area he now spends as much time as he can offering guests an experience only the Emerald Coast can offer. Whether it be scuba diving on any of the hundreds of dive sites that dot the coastline, saying hello to our healthy community of wild Dolphins, or just enjoy a relaxing day on the boat in the shallow waters of Crab Island, Captain Dan aims to give you the experience you are looking for!
Early in his scuba diving career Dan picked up underwater photography and videography. He still continues the practice today. So don’t be surprised if you see him with a camera in his hands. You can check out some of his work in his personal Pics & Vids Gallery.
"Had a great weekend with Capt Dan! Got plenty of fish for the cooler in a short amount of time. He knew all the right dive spots and was a very knowledgeable guide. I would definitely recommend this dive charter."
"Fun crew to dive with, I'll be diving out of Destin/Ft. Walton area more often. Thanks" Captain Dan
